Accessibility Statement
Effective date: October 20, 2026 · Last updated: October 20, 2026
Detroit Advantage LLC is committed to making our website and services accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the experience for all visitors and apply relevant accessibility standards.
1. Our Commitment
We believe every property owner, tenant and applicant deserves equal access to information about our services. Accessibility is part of how we design, build and maintain this website, and part of how we serve our community in Metro Detroit.
2. Conformance Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning and neurological disabilities.
3. Measures We Take
- Semantic page structure with clear headings and landmarks for screen reader navigation.
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
- High-contrast text and color choices for readability.
- Full keyboard navigation, with visible focus indicators on links and buttons.
- Responsive layouts that work with browser zoom up to 200% and on mobile devices.
- Clickable phone numbers and email addresses so you can contact us in the way that works best for you.
- Periodic review of the website as content and features are added.
4. Motion and Animation
Our website uses animations to enhance the experience. If you find motion distracting or uncomfortable, you can turn on the "reduce motion" setting in your device's operating system (available on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android), and we are working to honor that preference across the site.
5. Compatibility
This website is designed to be compatible with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge) and common assistive technologies such as screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack), screen magnifiers and speech recognition software.
6. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Third-party tools and websites we link to — such as payment portals or map services — are outside our control and may not meet the same standards. If you encounter a barrier, please let us know and we will provide the information or service in an alternative way.
7. Accommodations for Our Services
Beyond our website, we are committed to complying with the Fair Housing Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) where applicable, and the Michigan Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act. Tenants and applicants with disabilities may request reasonable accommodations in our rules, policies, practices or services, or reasonable modifications to a property. We can also provide documents in alternative formats or assist you by phone or in person at our office.
8. Feedback and Assistance
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you have difficulty accessing any content or need assistance, please contact us. Please include the web page address, a description of the problem, and how you prefer to be contacted. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
